The discussion was attended by representatives of the Government of the Novosibirsk region and Tolmachevo airport. General Director of JSC "Airport Tolmachevo" Evgeniy Yankilevich told the meeting participants about complex development of the airport.
During the meeting special attention was paid to the architectural motif of the new air terminal facade: they are treated as a single glass band, which is "wrapping" the building around the perimeter and emphasizing the higher central volume, where the main entrances and the main lobby are located.
The compositional dominant of the main airport hall interior are the columns, lined with stainless steel and evoking with their outlines associations with aircraft turbines or photon engines of the future and referring to the development of advanced science, as one of the main characteristics of our region, renowned throughout the world by its Novosibirsk Akademgorodok.
The height of the terminal will also be its special feature. It is more that 30 meters, which approximately corresponds to the height of the eleven-storey building. Glass with the low reflection effect will be the main cladding material, this will allow to achieve the street and interior space interpenetration effect and the thought out evening lighting will make the complex a noticeable landmark both for people driving up to the airport and for passengers flying up by plane. Another special feature of the new complex will be a historical component, dedicated to our famous countryman, a legendary pilot, three times Hero of the Soviet Union, Alexander Ivanovich Pokryshkin.
General Director of JSC "Airport Tolmachevo" Evgeniy Yankilevich told the meeting participants about complex development of the airport. "Several projects are being simultaneously implemented at Tolmachevo airport. Therefore, we can call it a large-scale public-private partnership'', he stressed out.
In addition to the new terminal complex construction, a large-scale project of the second runway complex reconstruction is being implemented. Besides, Russian Post is implementing its project at Tolmachevo airport. It is the construction of a Logistic Mail Centre with the total area of up to 50 thousand square meters and the capacity of up to 1 million of processed mailings per day. Construction of the Centre should start in April.
The Governor Andrey Travnikov viewed the proposed architectural solutions favourably, encouraging to make the appearance of the new air terminal memorable with its unique personality. "I'd like the building to be used for postcards. Interesting solution: without entering the building, we are, in fact, immediately immersed in the internal space of the terminal. Perhaps it will really be a step into the future, the twenty-second century. I agree that it will be perceived fantastically, especially at night, stated Andrey Travnikov.
"We regularly interact with our partners on a routine basis. We resolved land, engineering issues, issues of related infrastructure development. I'm sure that the airport development issue as well as the architectural motif of the air terminal are important for the residents of the region", the head of the region stressed out.
It is planned to implement the Tolmachevo airport air terminal complex reconstruction project by 2025 in two stages with the completion of the first, main stage in 2022. 11.5 billion rubles of private investments will be allocated for the design and construction of the terminal complex until 2022. By 2022, the airport expects to increase passenger traffic to 10 million people a year. The approximate total area of air terminal complex after the implementation of the two stages should be more than 100 thousand square meters.
Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport modernization is performed as part of the implementation of the article 15 of the decree of the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, dated May 7, 2018 "On national goals and strategic objectives of the country development for the period up to 2024". Novosibirsk airport development is one of the main stages of Novosibirsk preparation for the Youth World Ice Hockey Championship to be held in 2023.
