Tolmachevo Airport – among the best airports in Russia
February 7 in Moscow, the winners and laureates of the 4th National Award "The Air Gates of Russia" were awarded. The ceremony was held on the eve of the Day of Civil Aviation of Russia as part of the business program of the V National Exhibition of Civil Aviation Infrastructure NAIS. The solemn event was attended by presidential aide Igor Levitin, the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov, the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko.
At the end of 2017, Tolmachevo Airport won the third prize in the nomination "Best Airport - 2017" among international airports with a passenger flow of up to seven million passengers per year. Diploma to the Novosibirsk airport was presented by the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko. In addition, Tolmachevo airport was declared the winner in the nomination "The best cargo terminal". Winners and laureates of the award were determined by the vote of the expert jury.
Tolmachevo Airport is constantly working to improve the infrastructure and quality of passenger service, the development of the route network. According to the results of 2017, the airport served 5,007 million passengers, which is 22.2% more than last year and is a new record for the number of passengers serviced since the beginning of the year. Tolmachevo also retained its position in the top five Russian airports-leaders in the overall cargo flow.
The annual national award "Air Gate of Russia" was established in 2015 by NAIS organizing committee, Federal Air Transport Agency and AVIA.RU portal with the aim of forming a positive image of airports and their business reputation in the society, as well as identifying and encouraging the most efficient and stable developing airports in Russia.
The jury consists of representatives of: aviation authorities of the Russian Federation, specialized FGUP and FGU, airlines, aviation business enterprises, industry associations, professional expert community and mass media.
NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport (Tolmachevo) is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 1300 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
